The Washington Capitals biggest offseason acquisition has gotten on the scoreboard.

T.J. Oshie fired his first goal with the team on the power play – a wrister from the slot past Chicago Blackhawks backup goaltender Scott Darling.

There are few images in hockey that are better than Oshie’s ear-to-ear grin. The Capitals traded for Oshie, who rose to fame in the 2014 Olympic Winter Games with his shootout moves, over the summer by sending Troy Brouwer to the St. Louis Blues.

Many of the big names in new locations have scored with their new teams – Phil Kessel with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Brandon Saad with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Rookies Jack Eichel and Connor McDavid have also scored.

The goal was also Oshie’s first point with the Caps. He had 55 points and 19 goals in 72 games with the Blues last season.
